Words

Words Cannot Express...
By Rebekah L. Perkins

There are somethings words just can't capture
The first cry of a baby, or his first burst of laughter
The soft lullaby coming from a new mothers lips
And the little fingers gripped tightly as into dreamland he slips

Though words have power, and can do many things
They have yet to catch the strain of midnight dreams
Never have they caught the essence of early morning
When all around the little birds break forth and sing

No words that have been written in all time
Have known the thrill at the top of a mountain climb
The gap in the clouds where filtered sunlight peaks through
Or the true awe of watching the settling of the dew

The peaceful beauty of a summer afternoon
Or watching the rising of the beaver moon
When the first leaf falls from the old maple tree
Or the endless roar of the lonesome sea

A cry in the night that sends shivers up your spine
Or the awkward moment when you find someone has built you a shrine
Those cries of joy when loved ones reunite
And the pain when your emotions you fight

That moment when you look deep into someone's eyes
And the billions of sparkling orbs in the nights skies
The sunshine's effect on giant fields of wheat
Or that gesture that is inexpressibly sweet

The wells of hope swelling in a little child's heart
Or when that last bond is broken, and a relationship falls apart
How the terror of one thought can shake a persons soul
Or how love into your heart silently stole

.That moment you look up and everyone's eyes are on you
And the strong bond of friendship shared between two
The thoughts in the moment when you think you're about to die
Or what a thrill it would be to stretch out your arms and fly

The power of words, though sometimes seems limitless
Non of these things can fully express
There is a element which words just cannot reveal
An element to things that our hearts understand, but no words can unveil
